Advancing to the State Championship

Once the final conference open has been completed and the final conference standings have been calculated and verified, teams will be awarded entry to the State Championship.

Each year the number of teams that gain an automatic bid to advance from each conference will vary depending on number of conferences, size of each conference,  State Championship format and other factors associated with growth of Minnesota Junior B.A.S.S. Nation. The number of allocations and format of the State Championship will be decided  by the Youth Director of Minnesota B.A.S.S. Nation with consultation from the competition committee.

To receive the invitation, the anglers must be in good standing with B.A.S.S. and be eligible to advance to the National Championship the following year. This typically means teams with graduated seniors cannot advance.

Invitations will be awarded to the top  teams that are eligible to advance to the State Championship by the Conference Commissioner. Teams will have a short window of time to accept the invitation. When invitations are declined, the Conference Commissioner has the option to move down the standings list to invite additional teams to fill the vacancies.

Conference Commissioner will then submit the roster for the spots to the Youth Director of Minnesota B.A.S.S. Nation.

National B.A.S.S. High School Championship Conflict

When a schedule conflict occurs with a conference qualifying event and the B.A.S.S. National Championship, national qualifying teams that are affected must fish at least two of the conference qualifying events.

At that point, the average of their two tournament points received thus far from the two will be added to their point total as their “third event.”

Should that amount of points have been enough to qualify for the conference for the State Championship then they will received an exemption qualification for the State Tournament of that season.

Each conference count stays the same. These teams would be a Competition Committee’s exemptions on top of normal field yielded from those that fished all 3 conference events.
